Alternate Sentencing Programs - House Arrest and Electronic Monitoring

At the direction of the Court, the Plumas County Probation Department can provide a method for sentenced defendants to participate in a house arrest program in order to maintain their employment and other personal affairs. This program is known as the Electronic Monitoring Program.

Electronic monitoring utilizes the use of a sophisticated global positioning system (GPS) through a single-unit transmitter fitted to the offender’s ankle. The device tracks and monitors the offender’s location in real-time, anywhere, anytime, anyplace twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week. The GPS functionality, two-way voice communication and application specific software, provides the highest level of protection to communities and families.
