Tobacco Use Reduction Program (TURP)

Plumas County Public Health Agency’s Tobacco Use Reduction Program has a vision of a community where all individuals are healthy and free from problems related to tobacco. Our mission is to plan, coordinate and provide a continuum of tobacco prevention services that are responsive to the needs of Plumas County’s communities. We model our work on an “upstream” approach and use evidence-based research to guide our programs.

What are we working on?

The Tobacco Use Reduction Program is busy diving into their 2017-2021 Plan. This 4-year plan has four main objectives - 1) Eliminating flavored tobacco and introducing a fee to the current Tobacco Retail License in Plumas County, 2) enacting smoke-free healthcare campuses, 3) achieving smoke-free outdoor recreation areas, and 4) training young adults to become tobacco control leaders. For more information about each objective, click on the links on the left.
