Last Day for Receiving Green Waste at the Chester Landfill


The Plumas County Department of Public Works - Solid Waste Division announces that the Chester Landfill will be closing for the winter season.

The last day for receiving green waste at the Chester Landfill will be Saturday, November 4, 2017.

Green waste receiving at the Chester Landfill will re-open in the spring of 2018.


Woody Green Waste and Non-Woody Green Waste (Reduced Green Waste Rate)

Location:  Quincy Solid Waste Transfer Station

Hours: Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (closed for lunch 12:00-12:30)


Woody Green Waste AND Non-Woody Green Waste (Reduced Green Waste Rate)

Chester Transfer Station

Saturday    9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed for lunch 12:00-12:30)

Examples of non-woody green waste are grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, pine cones and weeds.

Examples of woody green waste are trees, limbs and branches.
