Adult Outpatient Centers provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals requiring mental health or dual diagnosis treatment. The outpatient treatment team consists of trained professionals including psychiatrists, licensed therapists, psychiatric technicians, counselors, and support staff. Focus areas include mental health and substance abuse assessment, psychiatric assessment and evaluation for medication, medication monitoring, limited individual counseling, group counseling, bilingual counseling services, interpreter services, benefits services, and community services referral.

Drop-In Center
The Drop-In Center is a place for community members and clients to meet in a warm and supportive environment. Our purpose is to provide a place for self-improvement, peer-support, education, socialization, fun activities and community awareness about mental health, and alcohol and drug issues.

The center has ongoing, no cost activities including:

  • Weekly groups
  • Finding support from others with similar life issues
  • Opportunities for becoming a working member
  • Socialization and recreation

The Sierra House- In-patient Residential Living Facility
The mission of The Sierra House is to provide a quality supportive living environment that enhances the independent functioning of individuals recovering from mental illness.

The Sierra House is an adult resident facility for chronic mentally ill clients age 18-64. The primary services offered are housing, meals, supervision of medication and medical needs, supervision of personal care, monitoring of psychiatric status with appropriate referrals and full range of mental health services available through Plumas County Mental Health. The goal is to maximize client independence and integration into the community while providing education, support and protection for persons with psychiatric disabilities.

The maximum capacity is 14 residents. Staff is present 24 hours per day.

Wellness and Family Resource Centers (WFRC)
The Wellness and Family Resource Centers (WFRC), in coordination with Plumas Crisis Intervention Resource Center, are consumer driven and emphasize recovery oriented activities including peer support, socialization opportunities, caregiver support, parenting classes, smoking satiation, NAMI, life skill groups, reintegration into the community, LGBTQ support, employment services, and medication support. These centers are open to all community members. Staffed in part by trained consumers to provide non-crisis assistance to consumers needing support.

Youth Outpatient Services and Locations
Youth Outpatient Centers provide treatment and care for behavioral and emotional needs of children, transition age youth (TAY), and families. The services include mental health assessment, group and individual therapy, family therapy, case management, and skill building. If indicated, psychiatric evaluation and medication management is available. We also provide referrals to community support providers.

School Based Counseling
PCBH staff provide mental health services in school settings throughout Plumas County, covering most communities. Clinicians provide a variety of counseling models and techniques to eligible students and their families. Medication services are available as indicated.
Referrals or request for services can be made by calling our Central office at 530-283-6307
Monday- Friday 8am - 5pm or by speaking with your schools administration.
