Tobacco Use Reduction Program
The Tobacco Use Reduction Program (TURP) is an outreach and education program that assists with enforcement of California smoke-free workplace laws. Education is offered to tobacco merchants to help stop the sale of tobacco to children under 18. Cessation referral is offered to those who would like to quit smoking.
TURP works with the Public Health Agency on all tobacco-related health issues including prevention education, information on tobacco laws, and signage. The program is funded by Proposition 99 the Tobacco Tax Initiative. For more information, please call (530) 283-6427 or for cessation call (800) 7-NO-BUTTS.
