To apply for a free library card, please bring a current picture ID and proof of your current mailing address.

Valid Forms of proof of address include but are not limited to (mix and match as needed): Driver’s License, student ID, utility bills, lease agreement, passport, insurance card, property tax receipt, and so on.

The replacement fee for a lost card is $1.00. Children must be able to write their full name, and a guardian’s signature is required for children under 18. Guardians are financially responsible for all materials checked out on the child’s card.  Please notify us of any changes to your account.

Bring your library card each time you wish to check out materials. We hope to see you often!

NEW: Online-Only Cards:

Want access to our online services that require a library card but don’t have one? You can now apply for one without coming into the library. You can either contact your local branch through email/phone or contact HQ at 530-283-6310 or email them at pclibq@psln.com; you will just need your name, local mailing address, and phone number and/or email. At any point, you can bring in your ID and proof of mailing address and change your online-only card into an account that lets you also check out physical materials, use our Zip Book Program, and more.

Renew Cards:

You can renew your library card in person, over the phone, or through email. We will just need to ask if your address, phone number, and email are up to date.
