The Chester Green Waste Program
has closed for the 25/26 Winter Season.
Green Waste at the Chester Landfill Schedule
Hours of Operation: 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Fri. - Sat (Closed from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM Daily)
Please continue to check back as the season progresses for any changes to times of operation:
Green waste will continue to be accepted at the Chester-Lake Almanor Transfer Station at a non-reduced rate Friday-Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed 12-12:30 PM). Winter hours begin December 1st, Friday-Monday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (closed 12-12:30 PM).
NOTE: ALL Transfer Stations and the Chester Landfill are Closed on the Following Holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Easter
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day
Quincy Transfer Station (Reduced and Non-Reduced Rates)
Woody Green Waste (Reduced Green Waste Rate for segregated and uncontaminated loads only).
Non-Woody Green Waste is accepted by Feather River Disposal at a non-reduced rate only at this time.

Woody Green Waste AND Non-Woody Green Waste (Non-Reduced Green Waste Rate at Transfer Station when the Chester Landfill is Closed for Receiving).

The opening day for receiving green waste at the Chester Landfill is Friday, April 29, 2022.

Examples of non-woody green waste:
Grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, green pine cones, and weeds.
Examples of woody green waste are:
Dry pine cones, brush, tree trunks*, limbs* and branches*.
*size restrictions at Chester Landfill, Chester Transfer Station, and East Quincy Transfer Station. All loads are subject to attendant inspection.
