ITINERANT VENDORS

On July 13, 2010, the Plumas County Board of Supervisors passed and adopted Ordinance No. 2010-1074, relating to Business Licenses and Itinerant Vendors.

An "Itinerant Vendor" is a person not having a regularly established and fixed place of business within the County, who travels from house to house, place to place, or has a stand on any street, alley, parking lot, or another place, and who sells or offers for sale any goods, merchandise, wares, foods, vegetables, fruits, groceries, beverages or medicines for immediate delivery from stock in his possession.

The revised Ordinance requires an Itinerant Vendor to obtain a license from the County Tax Collector. On August 12, 2010, this Ordinance will become effective and any vendor described above that does not have an Itinerant Vendor's License displayed in plain view will be ordered by a Plumas County Sheriff's Deputy to close the business immediately until a license can be obtained from the Tax Collector.
